Flash sales are a powerful tool in the world of e-commerce, and WooCommerce makes it easy to set them up for your online store. A well-executed flash sale can create a sense of urgency and excitement among your customers, leading to increased sales and revenue. In this guide, we’ll walk you through the steps to set up a flash sale in WooCommerce, with a focus on how Setary can make the process more efficient.

A lot of store owners do flash sales for a short amount of time, so it’s key to be able to set the flash sale prices and then revert them.

Prepare Your Products

Before you start, make sure you have the products you want to include in the flash sale ready. You can choose specific products or categories to discount during the sale. Ensure that these products are appealing to your target audience and are in stock.

You can do this by filtering your products or just keeping the filters blank to cover all your products.

Install and Activate a WooCommerce Sales Plugin

Ordinarily you would now go through the rigmarole or finding a WordPress plugin to do a flash sale as WooCommerce do not do this out the box. This is painful, not all plugins are great, some may error, some may not support certain version of WordPress or PHP.

Let’s avoid that and keep WordPress simple and leverage the power of Setary.

Configure Setary to complete a flash sale

You’re now ready to do a simple bulk edit.

  1. Click the column header for Regular Price, this will select the entire column, now copy that to clipboard using CMD + C (or Windows equivilent), click the Sale Price column header and paste CMD + V. You’ve now copied accross your prices for your selection of products. You can now Save Changes as the prices are the same so no ones getting anything cheaper yet.
  2. Next step is to reduce prices. In the top left hand corner tick the column header to select all products and then click Bulk Actions > Edit Products
  3. A modal will pop-up and we want to edit the Sale Price column and then decrease value by percentage (you may want to flash sale differently, but for this example we will do a blanket percentage decrease).
  4. Set your percentage and then proceed. Voila, you have a flash sale setup, simple click Save Changes and your flash sale is live!

Once your flash sale is over, the quickest way to return the pricing is clicking the Sale Price header to select all sale prices, and then click backspace on keyboard to delete, and then Save Changes again.

Customize Sale Promotion

Promote your flash sale to your audience. You can use various channels, including your website banners, email newsletters, social media, and paid advertising. Create engaging graphics and compelling copy to grab your customers’ attention.

Monitor and Analyze

During the flash sale, monitor its performance closely. Track sales, conversion rates, and website traffic. Analyze the data to understand what worked and what didn’t. Use this information to improve future flash sales.

End the Sale Gracefully

When the flash sale ends, be sure to remove the discounts promptly and update product prices to their regular rates. This is as simple as reversing the step completed earlier. Send thank-you emails to customers who made purchases and consider offering a discount for their next visit.

Setting up a flash sale in WooCommerce can be a game-changer for your online store. By creating a sense of urgency and offering attractive discounts, you can boost sales and build customer loyalty. Remember to plan your flash sale carefully, promote it effectively, and analyze the results to refine your future sales strategies.
